The hotel looks modern, clean, and smells good. The room was spacious and comfortable. Location is great as it is just opposite a mall, with several eateries within walking distance. The complimentary coffee behind the reception was surprisingly good. Overall, good value and a pleasant stay for visiting the attractions around Mornington Peninsula. The only complaint is that the deposit was actually charged to my non-Australian credit card and later refunded, which resulted in some extra charges due to exchange rate differences. Usually, other hotels only hold the amount as pre-authorisation instead of charging it.

I have just spent 2 nights at Sands and my room was beautiful. I've never had a room so clean! Bathroom was spotless, bed was very comfortable. Coffee machine at reception available 24/7. Staff were so accommodating and friendly. If I could give a 20 out of 10 I would. Definitely be returning. Thank you!

We weren't sure what to expect from Nightelier Carrum Downs when booking - not familiar with the hotel and thinking that it was attached to The Sands. Past experiences would indicate that it might not be the best standard. We were wonderfully surprised! Not actually attached to the pub, but located across the driveway. Check in was a breeze with lovely reception staff, we were made fully aware of the facilities available, discounts at the pub, a couple of welcome drinks and the 24/7 coffee machine. All going beautifully so far. And then we went to our room. Wow! I just loved everything - it was so clean, the appointments and interior decoration lovely, the bathroom spacious and everything we needed on hand. Good quality and a nice calming colour scheme. The bed was comfortable and the pillows great. The other surprise? Absolutely no noise. None. Didn't hear a single thing all night. My only (very small) issue was the shower - it was pretty dark with no lighting in the vicinity of the shower itself, and it only has a rain head, which is not ideal if you want to keep your hair dry - with no shower caps supplied. An easy fix. We loved our night here and will stay again if we need to be in the area.

Great location, very clean room, not expensive, excellent price, and exceptional customer service. Jen was always friendly and attentive to help. Absolutely loved staying at the Sands Hotel at Carrum Downs.

Needed somewhere decent to stay and this was above expectation. Definitely a place to stay. Excellent service from start to checking out. Great breakfast Clean room and big enough

Having spent hundreds of nights in various rooms, these are amazing and worth the time writing about it. The venue attached has great food and facilities and it all really punching above its weight. Well worth it if you are seeking a stay in the area and would highly recommend.

A clean, modern and attractive hotel. There are lots of nice little touches. Everything was very smooth. It was also surprisingly good value at $167 for 1 person per night

i was assigned to wheelchair accessible room. it was big and near to laundry. laundry operating timing is from 6am to 10pm. affordable coin wash. free parking in compound. can heat up food and have free drinks in the lobby. great stay!
